The Modern Day Jacobite

Hi friends.

I am attendng the highland games at glenfinnan on Sat the 16 August hopefully weather permitting.

This is the place in Scottish history where bonnie prince charlie raised his stadered and the 45 began the clans rallied to his standered.

On the same day is the Highland games and what a day it is on the shores of loch Shiel. And the views of the hills I feel so proud to be a scot when i am up here and among the glens of my forfathers

Hi Friends this is one of my favorite journeys in Scotland up the west coast and to Mallaig , this is where you get the boat to Skye and it is one of the most intreging journeys i have been on.

This journey is full of history from Bonnie prince charlie to the second world war soe trained here during the second world  war it was a no go area from Glenfinnan to mallaig.

I came up her with my parents as a child and loved it from the start and still do it sort of a stuck with me.

It is full of  tranquil beaches and with beautiful white sandy beaches and clear water and you would even know you were in Scotland you would think you were in the caribean.

Lochearnhead highland games 2008 are the best i have ever been to and l have the privalage of being a member of the clan McLaren.

I love Scottish history  and the highland games such as cowal and the world pipe band championships and also lochearnhead

On sat the 19 july i attended these games and the weather was great and with some showers but all in all it was a great day out.

I am comming back with a vengance.

Hi friends shall be attending the Highland games at Lochearnhead this comming Sat and it is my Clan event witch gives me a lot of

pride and honour walking with them and being with them .

This event is truly a family day out and it is a brilliant day the traditional swing of the kilt to tossing the caber and the athletic events, a the piping events and the skirl of the pipes.Deep in the Perthshire country side the senery is amazing.

We are in the heartland of the Clan Mc Laren and Clan Mc Gregour and Clan Mc Nab country .

These Clans were active in the 45 uprising and the 15 Bonnie Prince Charlie and his Father were suppoted by these Clans.

Their markers and graves lie at Culloden Moor, the famous Battle site .
